Hallsville, Texas on Saturday Night Hallsville is a city in Harrison County, Texas, United States, located 13 miles (21 km) west of the county seat, Marshall on US Highway 80. The population was 2772 at the 2000 census. As of the 2010 census Hallsville had a population of 3577. The median age was 32. The racial and ethnic composition of the population was 89.1% white, 5.5% black or African American, 0.6% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 2.6% from some other race and 2.0% from two or more races. 6.1% of the population was Hispanic of any race.[4] As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2772 people, 993 households, and 799 families residing in the city. The population density was 1217.3 people per square mile (469.4/km²). There were 1050 housing units at an average density of 461.1 per square mile (177.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.15% White, 4.76% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.36% Asian, 0.69% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.27% of the population. There were 993 households out of which 48.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.8% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.5% were non-families. 17.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
